... but not in that way.
I don't know what it is with people today! It's either something's gone haywire with the norms of the universe or my hairstylist just did a really good job re-layering my hair; which, by the way was done by a gay guy named "Dong" - I told you a got mad appreciation for them gay dudes.
Incident #1 - at "Rebecca's Hair Salon"
Rebecca: Denise, why don't you just become an actress in the Philippines.
Me: Ha.. ha.. no thanks.
Random customer #1: Yeah, you look like an actress!
Random customer #2: You should try it, you'd make a lot of money.
Me: No.. it's okay. I'll just go to school for now haha.
(I kept talking/responding to a minimal cause I was just worried about whether or not they'd cut my hair too short like last time)
Incident #2 - at work
Guest: Are you Chinese or Japanese....?
Me: No, I'm Filipino
Guest: My ex girlfriend was Filipino. Filipino women are just so pretty!
Me: Haha thanks.
Guest: You speak Filipino?
He then starts articulating Tagalog phrases, one of which was "mahal kita" (translation: I love you)
Me: Only a little bit, but I can understand
Guest: Oh that's good, but you're still pretty so it's okay.
Me: *deer in headlights look after he leaves my sight*
- that same guy comes back and tries to "impress" me (in my coworker's opinion) by pointing out that despite a vacation he needs to keep up with his daily workout routine, hence asking if one of our amenities included a fitness room.
Incident #3 - at work
(This was after I lead the couple to the dining room)
Guest: Sorry, I just came back to say that my wife and I think you're stunningly attractive. Are you Korean, Japanese or what?
Me: No sir.. I'm Filipino
Guest: Oh wow. Yes... just gorgeous!
Me: .......thank you? Tell your wife too.. Enjoy your dinner!
Guest: You're welcome & thank you.
....................................... I KNOW.
I apologize cause I don't usually have vain blog entries like this but "3rd time's the charm" cause honestly, is there a full/blue moon tonight or something? This is ridiculous.
PS. I am guilty of exploring one of my vices today: shopping.
I absolutely love the little private boutiques on Main Street for their non-commercialized, rare and bargained merchandise! I managed to cop myself a cute outfit for this Wednesday's N.E.R.D & Common concert, a different-looking cardigan, my much-needed fall jacket (woooh!), and a pair of earrings. So much for saving huh? Well.. technically... I did cause if I hit up Robson or a mall their overpricey-ness would've burned my savings muahahaha.
Thus, leaving me as a happy camper!
